WHAT THINGS COST

How much does a website redesign cost?

A rebuild is not priced like a repair, and there is no separate redesign rate to go looking for.

A website redesign costs $3,500 for up to 7 pages and takes three weeks. There is no separate redesign price: it is the Website package, designed and built from scratch, whether or not a site exists today.

The packages behind the answer to "How much does a website redesign cost?", drawn as a price ladder with what pushes the number up and down.
Prices read from the catalogue, so this chart cannot disagree with the pricing page.

Why there is no redesign price

A redesign is priced by what gets built, not by what is being replaced. The Website package is a custom design system and up to 7 pages, and that is the same work whether the previous site was a page builder, a theme or nothing at all. Charging extra because an old site exists would be charging for something that does not appear in the result.

The existing site still matters, but as information rather than as a price factor. The brief asks what exists already, and the architecture step that follows agrees the page list and its order before any design starts. Changing the plan at that stage is free; changing it after the build is a new quote.

What $3,500 replaces the old site with

Up to 7 pages with a custom design system shown on real pages, so the last page looks like it belongs with the first. The site has no content management system and no plugins, and it carries a technical SEO foundation: clean markup, structured data, a sitemap and page titles that are not all the same. Three consolidated revision rounds run across the project.

After handover there are thirty days of fixes at no charge, and the deliverables become yours when the final payment clears. The site is deployed wherever you want it, so replacing a slow site does not mean being tied to the studio that replaced it.

What the price does not cover

Hosting and domain registration, which you pay directly to whoever provides them. Ongoing search work, which is the monthly retainer. A shop, a membership area or a booking system, which is a web application and starts at $7,500. Content in a language other than English, unless it is agreed in the brief. A new logo and type system is the Brand Identity package at $1,200, and it is a separate purchase.

The package list does not mention moving old content across or redirecting old addresses. If the current site has pages that bring in visitors, put them in the brief so it is agreed in writing: anything outside the list is a separate package or a separate quote, settled before work starts.

When the number changes

More than 7 pages is quoted per page, and costs less than the first 7, because the design system already exists and the later pages are assembly rather than design. Anything where a visitor logs in, pays or changes stored data moves the job from a website to an application, which is a different package rather than a bigger version of this one.

Going the other way, if what needs replacing is one page, the Landing Page package is $1,200 and takes seven days. A redesign of a whole site is not the only way to fix a single page that does not work.

Look at the old site before replacing it

A redesign fixes how a site looks and how it is organised. It does not necessarily fix why pages are missing from search results, and those are different problems with different causes. A $900 technical SEO audit reads the existing site the way a crawler does, with a full crawl and index coverage, and takes five days.

If traffic dropped before anyone decided to redesign, the audit is worth buying first: it tells you what the old site was doing right and should not be lost, and what was wrong and should not be rebuilt. If the site never had traffic to lose, you can skip it and go straight to the brief.

Frequently asked questions

Why no CMS?

A CMS is a database, an admin panel, a login and a security surface, and a site that changes a few times a year does not need that. Leaving it out is why the site has no plugin to be attacked through and no admin login to guess. If you genuinely publish often, say so and we will price it in.

What if I need more than 7 pages?

Tell us in the brief. Extra pages are quoted per page and cost less than the first 7, because the design system already exists.

Do you host it?

No. We deploy it wherever you want it and hand over the keys. You are never locked into us to keep your own site online.

When do I pay?

Fixed-price work is paid in full before it starts. Monthly work is paid monthly in advance and can be stopped at the end of any paid month. Prices are in US dollars.

When does the delivery clock start?

A delivery time starts on the first working day after payment clears and the project brief is submitted, not on the day of payment. If we are waiting on content, access or feedback from you, the clock pauses for that time.

Who owns the finished work?

When the final payment for a project clears, the deliverables become yours. We keep the right to use the work in our portfolio, described without naming you unless you agree otherwise. Third-party components (fonts, libraries, stock assets) stay under their own licences.

What happens after the work is delivered?

One-off projects carry thirty days of fixes at no charge from the day the work is handed over: anything that does not work, or that breaks by itself, is ours to put right. We watch the delivered work over that month rather than waiting to be told. Work you think of later is new work and is quoted separately. Monthly packages have no separate support window because the month you are paying for is the support.
