WHAT THINGS COST

Landing page or full website: which does a small business need?

Not a question of size. A question of whether you have one thing to sell or a business to explain.

A business with one offer to test needs the $1,200 landing page, delivered in seven days. A business that has to explain itself across several pages needs the $3,500 website, delivered in three weeks. The gap is $2,300 and two weeks.

The packages behind the answer to "Landing page or full website: which does a small business need?", drawn as a price ladder with what pushes the number up and down.
Prices read from the catalogue, so this chart cannot disagree with the pricing page.

One offer or a whole business

A landing page is one page with one job: somebody arrives from an ad, a post or a link, and either does the thing or leaves. It suits launching one product, sending paid traffic to one offer, or checking an idea before committing to more. A website is up to 7 pages with a real information architecture, and it suits an established business whose current site is absent, embarrassing or a page builder that has slowed to a crawl.

Page count is not the real difference. A site has to answer questions in an order, and the order is the work. Squeezing a whole company onto one scrolling page is a common and expensive mistake, and so is building a whole site for one offer nobody has tested.

What each one lists

The Landing Page lists custom design with no template, copy structure and hierarchy, a layout responsive down to 390px, analytics and conversion tracking, and two revision rounds. The Website lists up to 7 pages, a custom design system, a site with no content management system, plugins or page builder, a technical SEO foundation, and three revision rounds.

Read against each other, the differences are specific. Conversion tracking is named on the landing page and the SEO foundation is named on the website. Neither includes a content management system, and the website package says hosting and domain registration are paid by you directly.

Choose the landing page when

You already know who you are selling to and what you are selling, and the open question is whether it works. A landing page has no menu to wander into and no second page to hide a weak argument behind, which makes it the lowest-priced test of an offer that we sell.

It is $2,300 less than the website and two weeks faster, so a result that says the offer does not work costs you the smaller amount. It is also the right choice if you are pointing paid traffic at one place, as long as you do not expect the page to carry the rest of the business.

Choose the website when

You need to explain what you sell, who you are and why anyone should believe you, in more than one place, and a visitor will want to move between them. It is also the right purchase if you expect to change the text often: the landing page is static, so editing means editing code or asking us, and the website brief is where you say how often you publish.

The website carries the technical SEO foundation of clean markup, structured data, a sitemap and page titles that differ from each other, so it is the one to buy if being found in search is how customers will arrive. That makes it able to rank; our terms are clear that it does not make it rank.

When neither is the answer

If visitors have to log in, pay, book or change stored data, you are describing a web application rather than a smaller or larger website, and that starts at $7,500. E-commerce, membership and booking are named as excluded on the website package for that reason.

Starting small does not trap you. A landing page leaves you with a design system, so a second page is cheaper than starting again, and the way to get one is to ask for a quote rather than to buy another landing page. Pages beyond the first 7 on a website are quoted per page.

Worked example

What the published prices add up to
ScenarioHow it adds upTotal
Landing Page $1,200 $1,200
Website $3,500 $3,500
Landing Page + Website $1,200 + $3,500 $4,700

Each total is the published prices added together.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit it myself afterwards?

The page is static, so editing means editing code or asking us. If you expect to change the text weekly, buy the Website package instead, or tell us in the brief and we will scope a small editable region.

What if I need a second page later?

You keep the design system, so a second page is cheaper than starting again. Ask for a quote rather than buying a second landing page.

Why no CMS?

A CMS is a database, an admin panel, a login and a security surface, and a site that changes a few times a year does not need that. Leaving it out is why the site has no plugin to be attacked through and no admin login to guess. If you genuinely publish often, say so and we will price it in.

What if I need more than 7 pages?

Tell us in the brief. Extra pages are quoted per page and cost less than the first 7, because the design system already exists.

When do I pay?

Fixed-price work is paid in full before it starts. Monthly work is paid monthly in advance and can be stopped at the end of any paid month. Prices are in US dollars.

When does the delivery clock start?

A delivery time starts on the first working day after payment clears and the project brief is submitted, not on the day of payment. If we are waiting on content, access or feedback from you, the clock pauses for that time.

Can I get a refund?

Before work starts: Full refund, no questions asked. Ask any time before we begin and you get everything back. After work starts, before delivery: You are refunded the part of the project not yet done, assessed against the work completed at that point. If we have finished the design but not the build, you pay for the design and the rest comes back. After delivery: If the delivered work does not match what the package listed, tell us within 14 days. We fix it, and if we cannot, we refund you in full. Deliverables built exactly to the listed scope are not refundable simply because you changed your mind.
